Police on Monday announced the arrest of a 50-year-old woman, a resident of Haifa, who was taken into custody on suspicion of tearing off mezuzos in the city.

She was arraigned in the Haifa Magistrate’s Court, at which time her detention was extended until Thursday, May 30, 2019, to permit police to continue the investigation against her.

YWN-Israel reported recently that police are investigating a heinous hate crime, the smearing of excrement on the mezuzah of a building in the Hadar neighborhood of the city.
