Even before a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was declared, and when the war situation was inevitable, the heads of Yeshivas and directors of institutions from the south entered the residence of HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita on Rashbam Street in Bnei Brak.
The director of Talmid Torah Darchei Yaakov in Ofakim, Rabbi Eliezer Chaimson asked Rav Kanievsky whether he should open the cheider as usual. Rav Kanievsky replied that it was possible to open and that everything would be fine and that there would be no harm in the merit of the Torah.
As for the teachers who come from other cities, the Torah minister replied that they can come and teach without any fear.
Rav Kanievsky gave the same answers to all the directors of the yeshivos, as reported in BeChadrei Chareidim, who instructed Rosh Yeshivas Shaare Shmuos in Beit Chelkiyeh HaGaon HaRav Shapira, to being the zman on time as scheduled.
