Following the news from Arab sources of yet another ceasefire brokered by Cairo, bringing a halt to the latest round of Hamas rocket fire into Israel, MK (Blue & White) Yair Lapid commented on Monday morning, “Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu used the residents of the south as a flak jacket on the way to total surrender to Hamas, and Netanyahu will not solve the problem in Gaza, and he does not have the operational and political courage to do so.”

Lapid wrote this in his Twitter account and added, “The minimum he has to do is explain to the citizens of Israel the situation, but even that he does not have the courage to do.”

The chairman of the party, former IDF Chief of Staff MK Benny Gantz added, “Nearly 700 launches into Israeli territory, many injured and wounded and four killed – all of them the result of the loss of deterrence – end with another surrender to the blackmail of Hamas and the terrorist organizations.”

Ganz added, “All that the government did, once again, is to put the next [warfare] campaign in the works.”
