Military officials are expected to unveil a nearly $24 million dollar project in Beekman.

The new maintenance center — with a hefty price tag of $23.9 million dollars — would provide upkeep to about 1,200 military vehicles for units across southeastern New York.

The new 75,000 square-foot building would replace the facility currently at the Camp Smith Training Site near Peekskill.

Military officials said 50 technicians would run the maintenance center that will be built next to the Green Haven Correctional Facility.

Members from the Division of Military Naval Affairs and the Army National Guard will be at East Fishkill Town Hall to announce more details and answer any questions the public may have.

The information session is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday.
