MK Feiglin: Yes to Protecting WoW at the Kosel but Not for Har Habayis?

feig.jpgIn his letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Likud MK Moshe Feiglin points out that on Sunday Rosh Chodesh Tammuz 5773 police are on hand at the Kosel to make certain the Women of the Wall (WoW) are permitted to pray. Feiglin states police were protecting WoW members for a second time “since I was illegally barred from Har Habayis by the Interior Committee.”

Feiglin questions why the same policemen cannot be deployed to protect those wishing to visit Har Habayis as they do for the WoW group, adding the actions in the matter place a question mark on the State of Israel’s rule of law, which is used only to maintain the rights of certain populations selectively while others are trampled upon.

Feiglin concludes by asking if he will be permitted to visit Har Habayis on the 19th of the month in line with his minhag, in 2.5 weeks time, as he has hundreds of times prior to becoming an MK.

  1. Feiglin is not that dumb that he doesn’t understand the difference between some women davening with talis/teffilin by the kosel and upsetting some of the same Chareidi thugs who have attacked young girls outside a yeshiva for not being sufficiently tziniusdk and the incredible risk of Palestinian rioting and bloodshed that would result from yidden davening on har habayis where the gedolim have said it is assur to go. Or maybe Feiglin really is that dumb and simply needs to be protected from himself. Either way, Bibi is smart to ignore him.

  2. He doesn’t seem to get it.

Promoting non-orthodox, anti-Torah activities at the Kossel is government policy. The goal is to remove the Kossel from Jewish control and give it a status such as the Washington Monument or the Statute of Liberty as a NATIONAL shrine, rather thana place of kedusha. If Feiglin isn’t happy with that, why did he join Likud.

The governmetn also wants to ban anything Jewish on the Har ha-Bayis since it doesn’t want to pick yet another fight with the goyim.

If Feiglin is so concerned with the kedusha of Eretz Yisrael, maybe instead of being a politican he should have been a Ben Torah.

  3. Feiglin has shown himself to be far above the stool pigeon #2,
who figures instead how to defend what is reprehensible

  4. Don’t any of you know how to read and understand what you are reading? Feiglin didn’t speak of the WoW per se’, he was speaking of the police protection, that they government should provide the same police protection to those going uo to the Har Habayis.

Where is this article or anywhere else, did Feiglin say he supports what WoW are doing?

#3. I guarantee you that Feiglin knows more Torah than you. He is fighting for Jewish rights over all of Israel. He is NOT the typical politician you are familiar rwith. He doesn’t sell his sole for anything. He is remarkably consistent in his position, both before and after he became a Knesset Member.

  5. #3- If you had a fraction of the ahavas Yisrael and ahavas E”Y that Feiglin has, Yehadus would be in much better shape.
