Instead of celebrating Chaya Wasserman’s 52nd birthday as planned, she instead brought her beloved husband Eli, 51, to his final resting place.
Eli, HY”D, was one of two Israelis murdered in the erev Shabbos terror attack [reported HERE on YWN].
Eli began working in a factory in the Nitzanei Shalom Industrial Park as a manager about two years ago, overseeing some 17 Arab employees who fellow workers explain Eli always looked after, treating them respectfully and seeing to their needs.
When one of the employees was required to undergo surgery, he did the running around to assist the family in obtaining the required papers and permits from Israel.
Wasserman, who is survived by his wife and two children, 30 and 28, was laid to rest on Sunday at 16:00 in Kibbutz Einit.
Also murdered in the attack was 54-year-old Shimon Mizrachi, the industrial park’s security officer and an IDF reserve duty colonel. He is survived by his wife Sarah and their three children, ages 30, 28 and 18. He was laid to rest on erev Shabbos in the Gan Yashiya Cemetery near Bat Chafer.
