Two Syrian prisoners will be released in the coming days from Israel as a sign of goodwill to Russia on behalf of Israel for returning the body of Zachary Baumel. A source in the IDF said “Only after the return of the body of Zachary Baumel did Israel decide over the past few days to release the two prisoners as a gesture of goodwill. The issue was not raised ahead of time. Israel is acting without any indication of the future return of missing prisoners or missing persons and will continue to act in the best interest of Israel’s security.” The two prisoners to be released are a drug smuggler who was supposed to be released in three months time, and a terrorist who planned a terror attack against an IDF  base after he infiltrated the border in 2005. He is serving a prison term due to end in 2023.

Approximately 10,000 Gazans rioted at the border on Friday and Saturday along the border fence in Gaza. IDF forces returned fire and one rioter was hit while he was threatening the lives of security personnel.

A group of balloons carrying an explosive device was launched from the Gaza Strip and landed in the area of Zikim in Israel. the explosive was not attached to the balloons when they landed. Security forces are searching for the explosive assuming that it fell from the balloons somewhere along its flight path.

A fire broke out near Nachal Hab’Sor as a  result of a balloon bomb. Firefighters worked for numerous hours to quench the blaze.

A 24-year-old Israeli was injured while he was hiking up the side of a volcano in Chile. He broke his leg and was transported via helicopter by local search and rescue units to a local hospital.

A 24-year-old man was arrested after he was suspected of hitting a 2-year-old infant on Olga beach with a motorcycle.

A 70-year-old pedestrian was hit by a bus while waiting at a bus stop on Highway 866 near Meron. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. United Hatzalah volunteers responded to the incident but were forced to pronounce the man dead due to the injuries he sustained as a result of the accident.

United Hatzalah volunteer Shai Shlezinger who was the first responder at the scene said: “Together with volunteers who live in Meron and the surrounding area, I performed CPR on the man who suffered a full system injury as a result of the accident. Sadly, we were forced to pronounce the man’s death at the scene.”

An electric bicycle rider was critically injured after he was hit by a bus on Highway 444 near the entrance to Shoham. Volunteers from United Hatzalah performed CPR on the man after which he was transported to the hospital.

A year-and-a-half-year-old slipped and fell in her home in Tzefat and was seriously injured. She suffered a head injury and was treated at the scene and transported to Ziv hospital.

An infant in Beitar Illit suffered burns to 30% of her body on Motzei Shabbos after a cup of boiling tea was spilled on her in the kitchen at her home.

The combined military drill “Allied Spirit X” that began in Germany last week came to a close on Shabbos. Numerous militaries took part in the drill including a reconnaissance battalion of paratroopers from the IDF. Other countries that participated included the United States, Germany, and Britain. This is the first time that an IDF battalion has participated with foreign militaries on foreign soil.

14 people were injured in a three-car accident that took place on Highway Six on Shabbos near the Nitzanei Oz intersection.

A 30-year-old man was seriously injured when violence broke out in Be’er Sheva over Shabbos. The man was treated at the scene and transported to Soroka hospital.
