Anti-Semitic Attacks Continue in Lod


parMembers of the Torani group living in Ramle on Tuesday night the eve of 27 Sivan 5773 held a solidarity event for the residents of the nearby Agash neighborhood, which is mixed, both Arabs and Jews. The residents of Agash have recently been targeted by an increase in hate attacks from area Arab residents. These attacks include rock-throwing, slashing tires and verbal assaults. In the past, some of the Jewish residents were also targeted with firebombs. In one case, a vehicle was destroyed in a firebomb attack.

About 100 residents and supporters took part in the solidarity event. During the event local Arabs became unruly, smashing car windows along with windows of a nearby home.

Members of the Ramle Jewish community announced they stand firmly behind the ten families living in the mixed community and will do what they can to give them constant support. They are calling on Israel Police to take a firmer approach to the hate attacks and to act before there is bloodshed chas v’sholom.

Housing Minister (Bayit Yehudi) recently visited with the families and expressed his support, promising he will do his utmost to assist them.
