    The Nitei Gavriel on Pesach (volume 3, 29:9) discusses the custom in some Sephardic communities to hold salt in one’s hand while making the bracha of Sefiras Haomer.

    Does this have anything to do with Lot’s wife who turned into salt on pesach?
