Israel Tax Authority is targeting Israeli black capital located overseas. “There is substantial black capital, some of which is abroad. We recently launched the voluntary disclosure campaign on foreign assets and income, which netted 1,300 applications. In this campaign, we lowered the interest payment on tax debts, and provided legal immunity. This brought in a lot of money.”

Americans should realize that Americans are among the world’s leaders in taxpayer compliance. In much of the world, the population is divided between those too poor to pay taxes, and those who cheat on taxes. Israel is quite “normal”, and the US’s compliance is rather exceptional.
