Over 6 million Eligible Voters May Take Part In The Election For 21st Knesset


On Tuesday morning, April 9, 2019, the nation will go to the polls to elect the 21st Knesset. 6,339,279 eligible voters have the right to cast their ballot in the election at one of 10,720 polling stations, which open at 7:00 AM and remain open until 10:00 PM.

There will also be polling station in the nation’s hospitals, permitting hospitalized registered voters to exercise their right to vote. Those polling stations will operate from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. There will be 190 polling stations in hospitals, in addition to 58 polling station in prisons, permitting votes to select one of the 39 parties in the race. For a party to enter Knesset, it must receive a minimum of 3.25% of the vote, which most believe will be about 136,000 votes, amounting to four seats in Knesset.

Registered voters received a voting card at their official address, which informs registered voters where their polling station is. One may also find additional information on the Interior Ministry’s official site for the election for the 21st Knesset by entering one identification number and the date one’s identity card was printed.

One must bring identification when going to vote, which may be the form of an identity card, passport, or photo drivers license.
