In the chassidic Agudas Yisrael faction, they continue to work to convince the chassidic sects that do not participate in elections, which have grown stronger over the years, to vote in the elections.
Kikar Shabbos News reports that in a closed meeting attended by senior members of the chassidic faction, it was agreed that the party would take into account the communities that would not vote.
A senior Agudas Yisrael official is quoted anonymously in the report explaining “this time everything will be clear and computerized, and we invested great efforts and technological resources to know exactly in full detail through representatives of all the groups, the small chassidic communities, just who voted for who.”
The senior official makes a clear threat: “Groups and communities whose rabbonim do not forbid voting in the elections and abstained from voting – will not receive a response from our representative in the next term, as we have run out of time.
“We reached a situation where our representatives even got into trouble when they helped the same groups that did not actually join us in the elections, but we always helped everyone without question, and we will not turn the other cheek,” the senior official says emphatically. “A community or group that does not care to bring its voters to the polls, we will not recognize it when they will need us one day.”
The report adds, that the headquarters of Agudas Yisrael rented a hall in the center of the country, and about three hundred representatives of all the different chassidus sects from around the country will participate, representatives will enter data for software purchased specifically for this purpose at a cost of 110,000 shekels.
A source in Agudas Yisrael explained to Kikar News, “This time we will know exactly how each community and every chassidus, the exact voter turnout at any moment, and this includes a very accurate breakdown of all the different chassidic courts and all the details. It was hinted that communities that give a cold shoulder to Agudas Yisrael on Election Day will receive equal treatment in return when they require assistance.

Why should people vote for hypocrites? Sitting in the front row of the recent Aguda conference in Yerushalayim was a “Rebbe” who subsequently wrote in to YWN complaining about the conduct of a Rosh Yeshiva, real juicy loshon hara. As all the real great Chassidic Rebbes of today forbid the Internet, Aguda, get your own house in order by weeding out the hypocrites in your own ranks before you threaten to cut off others. And I seem to remember that loshon hara, even not on the Internet, is a serious matter!
