Election Day for the 21st Knesset is on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, leaving a few short hours before eligible voters will cast their ballots for parties vying for slots in the 120-seat Knesset.
Following are some election tidbits from Sunday, April 7, 2019.
• Yaakov Litzman told Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) “We will not go with Gantz for as long as Lapid is with him. It does not matter if the world turns upside down and even if the [internal] rotation [between Gantz and Lapid for prime minister] is canceled.
• Moshe Feiglin to Galei Tzahal: There is no problem with Kahlon on the Finance Ministry because he will not pass the minimum threshold.
• Dr. Mina Tzemach to Galei Tzahal: Feiglin’s voter base comes from the right-wing, and from new voters.
• Litzman: It’s possible that Netanyahu’s ‘Gevald’ campaign will hurt Yahadut Hatorah’s marginal voters, but it is important that Gimmel voters understand that voting for us is voting for him because we are committed to going with him.
• Ze’ev Kam reports that the United Right-Wing party is concerned on Election Day, Bennet’s New Right party plans to release tens of thousands of notices that United Right-Wing will not pass the minimum threshold, calling on voters to come over and vote for his party.
• Tal Shalev of Walla News: Blue and White party leaders fear that the Likud plans to release additional recordings that will embarrass party leader Gantz ahead of Election Day.
• Aryeh Deri joined Yaakov Litzman telling Galei Tzahal Shas will not sit in a coalition with Yair Lapid.
• Interestingly, no one is announcing they will not sit with Yisrael Beitenu, the party headed by Avigdor Lieberman, who realistically may be in a Netanyahu coalition. No party has been as outwardly anti-chareidi as Yisrael Beitenu during the current election campaign.
