State police have released the name of the man they say was involved in a collision that killed two Long Island residents on the Thruway in the Hudson Valley.
Troopers say they’ve charged 24-year-old Luis Munoz of Ossining in Westchester County with aggravated vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated for Sunday’s early morning accident in Orange County.
Police say Munoz was driving north on Interstate 87 near Exit 16 in Woodbury when he hit a motorcycle driven by 23-year-old Rafaelito DeJesus of Valley Stream. DeJesus and his passenger, 25-year-old Melissa Rupa of Mineola, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Munoz is being held Monday in the Orange County Jail on $250,000 bail.
The district attorney’s office said it didn’t know if he had a lawyer yet.
