Shlomo Mark, a son of Rabbi Miki Mark HY”D who was murdered in a terrorist attack in 2016, was killed in a vehicular accident. Shlomo was critically injured and subsequently died of his massive injuries, the result of a weekend vehicular accident in the Kiryat Gat area.

Mark, who was the director of Yeshivat Hesder Otniel, was murdered in a shooting attack near Adura, which is not far from his home community of Otniel. Now, over two years later, tragedy has struck the family again. The family has released the following message.

“Baruch Dayan HaEmmes. In endless pain and profound sorrow, we are compelled to announce the death of my husband, my son and our dear brother, David Shlomo (Shlomi), the son of Rav Michael Mark following a terrible car accident on his way to work at the Prime Minister’s Office.”

“The levaya will be tomorrow, Monday, at Har Menuchos in Jerusalem. The exact time to be announced”.

According to the MDA Spokesman’s Unit following the fatal accident: “The accident occurred on Highway 6 northbound, near the Kiryat Gat Interchange. EMTs and paramedics of MDA provided care and transported a male about 30 to the trauma unit of Soroka Medical Center in critical condition, with systemic multi trauma”.

Shlomi is survived by his wife Yiska and three children. His wife is also the daughter of a bereaved family, as her father, Shlomo Ben-Ami HY”D, was murdered in a terrorist attack. The couple lives in Otniel, and the accident occurred as Shlomi was heading to work on Thursday, at about 10:00 PM. He died of his massive injuries on Sunday.
