Amid concerns of another 45,000 Israeli families falling under the poverty level, the result of the new state budget, the Central Bureau of Statistics released its date pertaining to nationwide unemployment in April 2013.
The CBS reports that unemployment in April 2013 increased by 6.9%, climbing from 6.5% in the previous month. Unemployment among men rose to 7% in April, up from 6.7% in March. Among women, it rose to 6.7% from 6.4%.
The number of employed persons rose by 0.1% over March to 3.41 million in April. The number of full-time workers increased by 19,000 people in April, up 0.7% over March, while the number of part-time workers fell by 12,000 people, or 1.5%. The proportion of full-time workers rose to 77.5% in April from 77.1% in March.
