I am not a statistical genius (limited gadlus in math) BUT if I am analyzing this correctly, the headline could equally read “50 percent disapprove of Trump”. More importantly, if you cannot get above 50 percent approval on Rasmussen, which historically has been an outlier among polls to the point of 6 or 7 percentage points in favor of Trump/Rs compared to the average of all other polls) than the Trumpkopf has real tsoros.
The numbers suggest the Democrats could win if they were able to nominate someone who could appeal to voters who approve of Trump, but not strongly, however that is not likely if they are also appealing to those who strongly disapprove of Trump. It needs to be noted that there is reason to believe that those who hate Trump the most are concentrated in the Blue coastal states, whereas Trump’s support is more widespread geographically.
For many years, Rasmussen’s polls have skewed several points higher in favor of Republicans. The poll that counts is in December 2020, when the Electoral College votes.
Fake News. Given non stop anti-Trump 24/7 propaganda fed constantly by Fake News Media for 2 years the real numbers should be close to 70%
