Police are questioning two people this morning after a correction officer was shot and killed in Brooklyn, in what appears to be an attempted robbery.
The shooting happened around 3:15 this morning on Avenue A in East Flatbush.
Police say the 40-year-old off-duty officer was inside a garage with another person when they were approached by two other people.
The officer — whose identity has not been released — was shot in the head. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say two guns were found at a Dunkin Donuts located near the scene of the shooting. Two people at the donut shop were taken in for questioning.
As of this hour, no arrests have been made.
