General companies that get hechshers are not doing it to get some small community in Brooklyn. They are doing it to sell to people who think Kosher means better quality and some expanded commuinities who eat kosher, Like Seventh Day Adventists, Some muslims, some people who are looking for Dairy free items (Obviously not applicate here) they dont need every chumra. I googled big gay ice cream as I never heard of it before and see they are in NYC, People in NYC are not stupid and know basic kosher (Like Baskin Robbins, Ben and Jerry’s etc) they are not looking for the Mehadrin buyers of Ice cream. I also looked up the names of the owners one of them is named Petroff, Im not sure if that is jewish or not. The other does not appear to have a name anything like that
