Marzel: I Will Double my Limud Torah to Combat Gezeiros

marzelHebron resident and activist Baruch Marzel announced on Tuesday, 19 Sivan 5773 that he sees the best way to combat efforts to eliminate limud Torah is by doubling his limud Torah, which he is committing to do.

In a Facebook post Marzel explains increasing limud is the most efficient way of “removing the darkness”.

Marzel continued in his post, directing his criticism at Yesh Atid Ministers Yair Lapid and Shai Piron, questioning their military service and how they dare to speak about ‘sharing the burden’.

“They don’t want to induct chareidim. They want to uproot Torah along with their brothers and partners from Bayit Yehudi. I call on everyone to combat them by increasing limud Torah!”

  1. 1. Astute political analysis of Yesh Atid’s motives.

    2. It’s his “friends” in the Dati Leumi movement who made this possible.

  2. “I Will Double my Limud Torah to Combat Gezeiros”

Just curious if this means he is currently wasting half his day.

  3. double his learnng? that means he has so much time now that he is not learning?

Most people would love to squeeze in another hour, but to double the time? Only Marzel who wastes time the entire day instead of learning could do such a thing.

    Sorry not impressed.

  4. lazerc – are you so close to him you know his daily schedule?
Maybe he was learning an hour a day and is adding another hour. Something very difficult, but many of us can also do so if we really wanted to.

  5. I find it interesting that people spending their time posting comments on the internet are ridiculing this man for wasting too much time… especially when he is suggesting something as noble as increasing Torah for the zchus of Am Yisrael. That’s something to mock?

You can like Marzel or not, agree with his politics and tactics or not, but no matter how you feel about him, he has been moser nefesh for Eretz Yisrael.

  6. #5- I have been saying this for quite some time. The people who write “we need to learn more Torah and do more mitzvos”, are the very same who post on here all day.

  7. Yanky, very funny but I believe you are accurate. It’s becomming repetitive and immodest to continue reading about men saying they will learn more Torah and daven more, or women who will say more tehillim and do something by their shabbos candles. The most noble people learn and daven extra without announcing or seeking praise.
