Elad Mayor Yitzchak Edan and other city officials were arrested as a result of an ongoing undercover investigation which connects them to illegal activities. Edan was released to house arrest, officials reported on Tuesday, 19 Sivan 5773. He will spend the next two weeks in his mother’s home, after which it appears he may return to Elad City Hall.
On the day of his arrest, a Rishon L’Tzion Magistrate Court judge extended Eden’s remand for 48 hours, permitting his release on Tuesday.
