Border police were alerted by Israel police and a stolen vehicle was making its way from Jerusalem towards the Tunnel Highway to Gush Etzion. The vehicle approached the checkpoint at high speed and one up onto the sidewalk, leaving a border policeman with light-to-moderate injuries.

The injured officer was transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.

The vehicle was found abandoned between the PA (Palestinian Authority) villages of el-Hader and Batir. Border police continued the search for the suspect fled the scene.
