Northern district police announced on Monday, March 18, 2019, that a suspect has been taken into custody in the robbery of an Afula bank on Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2019. The suspect allegedly used a gun to rob the bank, making off with an unspecified amount, with police simply stating, “thousands of shekels”. He fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police investigated gathered evidence and launched a probe into the robbery. After his arrest, the suspect, male in his 40s and a resident of Afula, connected himself to the robbery. He was arraigned in the Nazareth Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
