The chairman of the Blue and White party, Benny Gantz, spoke out harshly against the Minister of Education Naftali Bennet, after he made a statement comparing justices serving on the High Court of Justice to the Hamas terrorist organization. “A minister of education who draws a comparison between a justice on the Supreme Court and Hamas may not remain in his post for another moment”, said Gantz.

Gantz made his remarks after the New Right party chairman said yesterday at TheMarker conference: “We have to have a decisive victory against Hamas and restrain the High Court of Justice. The High Court judges must judge, let the government rule and let the IDF win.”

Bennet expressed criticism of the IDF’s operations during Operation Protective Edge, which was during the tenure of then IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz. Bennet cited examples that have been documented in which Golani Brigade soldiers were sent into homes known to have been booby-trapped to have armed terrorists inside, yet nothing was done first to neutralize the threat before sending in the soldiers, who were killed. A minute later he explained the home was destroyed. “What would have happened if we did that a minute earlier? There’s no doubt that the excess of legalization harms Israel security, and dangers IDF soldiers, and we will release the IDF soldiers from these cables, which prevent them from defeating the enemy,” added Bennet.

Ganz viewed his words harshly and said, “They do not even have to bring the Kahanists to the Knesset, they themselves are like that,” and added, “They have turned evil into an all-inclusive and extremism is already in. We will send this whole government home and bring this country back to a responsible and sane place to which she is worthy.”
