akup – what is considered a city?village?
Can there be a “city” with only one inhabitant? Is there a minimum population for it to be called a “city”?
And how far can the chomos be from the inhabitants? Does the chomos need to be within daled amos of the inhabitants? A city/village that has it’s fields and surrounding lands enclosed by chomos – would describe Manhattan of old!
As a side issue: what is considered a ‘choma” – only a thick wall?! What about a picket fence??
But nachzor l’inyoneinu: why would you think the villagers didn’t consider the chomos of the island as their chomos?
