Mekubal HaRav Eliyahu Atiya ZT”L was niftar in Yerushalayim at the age of 97.

Rav Atiya was born in Halep. After the petira of his father HaRav Yitzchak in 5738, he was appointed Rosh Yeshiva of the Yeshivas Mekubalim HaChaim V’Hashalom, continuing in the capacity for the remainder of his life.

Of late, the rav became weaker, significantly so, and he returned his soul to his Creator on Monday morning, 4 Adar II 5779, with ten descendants surrounding him as they were Mekabel Ohl Malchus Shomayim.

The niftar is survived by his son Rav Mordechai, Rav Refael Chaim and sons-in-law, grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

The levaya began at 11:30AM from the Kehilos Beit Hesped in Jerusalem to Har Menuchos for kvura, buried next to his late rebitzen.
