The prosecutor’s statement was filed on Sunday against Arafat Arfa’iya, 29, a Palestinian resident of Hebron, who is suspected of murdering Ori Ansbacher HY”D of Tekoa on February 7, 2019.
From the moment that the body of 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher was found in the Ein Yael area of Jerusalem, a joint investigation team of the Israel Police and the ISA (Israel Security Agency/Shin Bet) worked to locate every piece of information and evidence that led to the identity of the murder suspect and his arrest by the police SWAT team. Subsequently, the investigation continued as they gathered evidence linking the suspect to murder and other offenses.
On Sunday, the suspect was brought before the Magistrate’s Court in Jerusalem, where a prosecutor’s statement was filed against him by the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, and his detention was extended until March 7th, at which time the prosecution plans to file the indictment.
The murder of the teen was exceptionally brutal according to official reports, and her lifeless body was found in the Ein Yael Forest between the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo and the Arab village of Wallaje.
A gag order was immediately placed on details of the attack and the investigation, signaling it was a terrorist attack.
