Israel: Stormy Days Ahead Beginning On Wednesday


The unseasonably warm pleasant days experienced in Israel during the last days are coming to an end as the winter continues, bringing colder wintry and wet weather in the coming days. While the rain is not expected in Jerusalem until Wednesday, temperatures are dropping significantly today, Tuesday, accompanied by southwest winds. Local rain is expected in the north of the country. Tonight, toward morning, the rain will become stronger and gradually spread to the center of the country, accompanied by severe thunderstorms.

The predicted temperatures for today and tonight:
Kiryat Shmona 11-18 (51-64F), Tzefas 7-14 (44-57), Tiveria 12-21 (53-69), Haifa 13-18 (55-64), Tel Aviv 13-19 (55-66), Jerusalem 7-15 (44-59), Beersheva 10-20 (50-68).

Tomorrow, Wednesday, it will rain periodically from northern Israel to the northern Negev and will be accompanied by thunderstorms. There are flash flood warnings for the Jordan Valley, the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea areas. Temperatures will drop and become unseasonably cold. Snow is expected on Mt. Hermon and haze conditions in the south.

On Thursday, it will rain periodically accompanied by thunderstorms from the north to the Negev. There are fears of floods in the southern and eastern nachals accompanied by strong wind gusts. Snow will continue on Mount Hermon and in the evening, snow may fall on norther mountain peaks as temperatures will remain unseasonably cold.

On Friday, it will be cloudy with local showers from the north of the country to the northern Negev. The winds will weaken, and temperatures will remain unseasonably cold.
