An exciting event was recorded this week in Jerusalem, with the launch of the “Belev Echad” chessed vehicle for the welfare of the special children and the sick children. The launch took place accompanied by dozens of musical instruments in the courtyard of the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem.

The event was attended by public figures, rabbonim and volunteers of Belev Echad, as well as the families and children who receive the devoted assistance of the organization throughout the year.

Chief Rabbi of Israel HaRav Dovid Lau, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, Deputy Mayor Rabbi Chaim Cohen, Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Rabbi Avraham Betzalel, and City Councilman Rabbi David Blumenstock honored the ribbon cutting.

The Chief Rabbi praised the volunteers of the organization, headed by Rabbi David Whitman, who light the hearts of the children and fill them with joy: “In these days of light and joy, we see the Belev Echad volunteers who do not forget the children and the families and do everything to make them happy.”

Jerusalem Mayor Leon: “The heart of Jerusalem is the volunteers who care for the handicapped and those who are coping with serious illnesses, and we at the Jerusalem Municipality are proud of our volunteers and do everything possible to support and assist them.”

Rabbi Whitman also thanked Rav Lau and his wife, and the mayor and his deputy, who took time from their busy schedules to be present at the dedication, and by doing so, making a statement as to the importance of the organization’s work. He added they remain confident the vehicle was only the first it would be acquiring.
