Former Shas leader MK Eli Yishai has informed Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita that he will not accept the appointment of director of the Shas-affiliated Mayan Chinuch education network. The reason he gave is a ruling of the Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, who feels that he cannot serve in that position while serving as a MK. Yishai however promised to assist whoever will assume the post of director of the educational network.

Yishai is needed in the Knesset, keep him there.
Yishai support alliance and friendship with the nationalists, who turned around and became back stabbers. No politician can survive that.
