HTC: Hollywood Police are considering whether an early morning act of vandalism qualifies as a hate crime.
To 71-year-old Edward Godette, there’s no question that the 15 or more swastikas written across his home, car, and truck in permanent marker were made by hateful thugs.
”Who does this? There’s no reason for it,” he said this morning.
About 2:30 a.m., Godette was awakened when someone rang his doorbell. He stepped outside to see his lawn and home covered in shaving cream and wet toilet paper. The phrase, ”Kill Jews” was written on his home. Lawn furniture was scattered around and in the street.
”Today it’s me, tomorrow it’s my neighbor,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of damage here.”
Police spokesman Carlos Negron said detectives had found no witnesses.
