“Pride events” in Israel will open this year in a large protest march in Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Open House announced on Sunday, February 3, 2019.
“I am very happy that the march in Jerusalem will open the season,” said Eyal Luria, a Meretz member of the Jerusalem city council. “In the capital of Israel – in front of the decision makers, it is important that we see our strength before the party parade in Tel Aviv – we will be in Jerusalem in a tremendous protest event demanding full equality of rights, and no less.”
The parade itself will take place on June 6 and will take place on the streets of Jerusalem in the city center, as part of a cooperation between the Open House Society in the capital and the toeiva center in Tel Aviv.
At the same time, this is one of the first tests of the new mayor, Moshe Leon, who heads a religious-chareidi coalition. In the interviews he gave before taking office, Leon chose to preserve honor and statehood in front of the proud community and said that he would allow it to be held in light of the court’s instructions but would not participate in it. “Everyone has the right to express his opinion, and I support anyone who wants to express his opinion,” Leon stated.

Mayor Leon’s strategy should be followed by the mosdos in Yerushalayim…….stop giving these groups credibility and attention by counter-protests, violent demonstrations etc. The gay-pride groups have won the legal right to hold their parade subject to reasonable limitations unrelated to their political agenda.. After the tragic murder of a bystander at the parade back in 2015, the Chareidi leadership in particular needs to avoid inflammatory rhetoric that could incite attacks by other deranged individuals. In simple terms, ignoring them would be the best strategy and minimize the attention they receive by the media.
Leon is an evil wicked backstabbing man.
Feh. 🙁
Katanhadorah,
They said that about the nazis too yms
We should peacefully demonstrate
if we dont when the land
vomits us out maybe aĺl of us will be vomited out.
Our muslim cousin’s would
never stand for it in public.
This is where democracy in Israel falls apart
R’L
They should all burn in hell
Gadolhadorah, I am afraid of the wrath that this parade creates in Shomaim. The least we can do is demonstrate against it.
Peaceful demonstrations are fine….its the risk that extreme rhetoric can provoke unstable individuals to cross the line into violent behavior. Ultimately, that poses risk to individuals on BOTH sides as well as the security forces. Free speech has limits.
Not enough for them to be defiling Yerusholayim, but this year even defiling the Shelosho Yemei Hagbolo.
Disgusting, totally disgusting!
They love to protest in Jerusalem, since it is the holy city and they are anti-G-d and anti-Torah, since the Torah says,
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22)
“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.” (Leviticus 20:13)
So much for the campaign for Kedushas Yerushalayim paraded by Degel Hatorah as their campaign slogan.
Where are they now? What about their angel Moshe Le’on?
סופו מוכיח על תחילתו. Kedushas Yerushalayim was never on their minds, but rather how many seats they will get.
So KatanHadorah, in your noble enlightened worldview would posting a sign or placard with a certain pasuk on it constitute extreme rhetoric?
Gadolhadorah, some how i have a feeling that you do not mind that this abomination disgrace would take place in Yerushalaim.
when we vote democrat or support those who tell us to we are just as guilty
when we are silent when “frum Jewish politicians ” votes against the Torah we are just as bad
TIME FOR NEW LEADERS – SAY NOT TO………………
So sad
Why do you keep blocking my comment????
