The Cabinet during its weekly meeting on Sunday is expected to vote to eliminate the Office of Strategic Planning, a post that was held by Yisrael Beitenu Party leader MK Avigdor Lieberman.
Lieberman’s party broke away from the coalition in protest of ongoing talks with the Palestinian Authority, talks that point to planned major land concessions by Israel.
Since his resignation, the responsibilities for the ministry have been divided among the Prime Minister’s Office and other ministries.
