The pogrom that struck Kiryat Yovel on Tuesday morning, the desecration of a shul and its Sifrei Torah has Jews throughout Israel outraged.
The attack took place in the Siach Yisrael Shul which is used by immigrants from France, who told the media following the attack they had thought they have left such horrific scenes behind when leaving Europe.
HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita was updated on the attack, sharing details available with the Gadol Hador. Rav Chaim responded “Those responsible will be held accountable”.
According to a BeChadrei Chareidim report, rabbonim from the Kiryat Yovel neighborhood are going to Bnei Brak to visit with Rav Kanievsky following the tragic attack. They are hoping to meet with Rav Kanievsky in his home later in the day.
Meanwhile, police were summoned early Tuesday morning after the horror of what occurred during the night was realized. Police forensic experts immediately began coming the scene, looking to gather evidence that would lead to information regarding the identity of those response.
The head of investigations in the Moriah Station, Superintendent Leor Ben-Shalom explains that they arrived on the scene after learning of the attack at about 7:00AM. He explains the Sifrei Torah were taken out and thrown on the floor, and cleaning solutions were thrown on them.
The work gathering evidence continues are police have assigned a special team to deal with horrific act of anti-Semitism.

How do we know this vicious act was done by non-Jews? We dont. So dont be so quick to call it a pogrom.
It doesn’t matter whether it was done by Jews or gentiles, it’s a pogrom regardless.
