An Arab League statement signals that for a first time, the Arab body is willing to negotiate final status boundaries in an agreement between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority). The statement says that the pre-1967 Six Day War boundaries are negotiable, signaling a possible shift from the league’s position over the years.
Justice Minister (The Movement) Tzipi Livni praised the Arab League’s position in a posting on her Facebook page. “They recognize that we may have to amend the ’67 lines and the days of upheaval in the Arab world are committed to normalization with Israel when a permanent agreement is reached with the Palestinians. There is much work ahead and certainly we cannot accept all the paragraphs as a holy writ but at times we can rise from the difficulties and say in short; there is good news that we must be thankful for.”

Where is the credibility to believe that the Arab League is serious?
How kind of them
Shazam & takingabreak – You guys would be really effective crisis negotiators!!
This is unprecedented, and if Israel responds in-kind it could well put them in a win-win situation…either have real prospects for a negotiated settlement, or in international prime time show up the Palestinians as unwilling to accept the Arab League’s position.
I believe them. They are amenable to changing them back to the pre-1947 borders.
Shazam – I don’t know if they’re serious. But even if they aren’t, don’t they get credit for saying this, which they’ve never said before?
Three NOs of Jerusalem
there is no Palestine nor Palestinians
There are no refugees
There is no Arab right to a sovereign entity west of the Euphrates
The concept of a negotiated peace with the “Palestinians” is a unequvocal farce! I can guarantee that even after Israel finally caves (and it eventually will) and gives up half its territory, there will still be rocket attacks (by alleged “fringe elements”), and there will still be terrorist attacks like the one in Shomron yesterday (a Perah Adam is a Perah Adam). The only thing Israel will “gain” is to make itself indefensible.
