it is dangerous. if a boat is hit by a gig enough wave, mainly waves taller then the boat is long, the boat will flip[ and instantly lose ship to shore communications. in a storm if the waves are not so big the boat will be pushed downwards, and the deck will fill with water. it’s a problem if the scuppers are not clear
