The Thursday 15 Iyar 5773 edition of Yated Neeman carries a call from the Moetzes Gedolei Yisrael on its front page.
“We are asked to inform the tzibur that there has not been any change in the position of the Council since the meeting on 25 Menachem Av 5772 at which time it was decided that a ben yeshiva who is called to an induction center should report. He should not fill out any forms with the exception of personal details and be M’Kadesh Shem Shomayim.”

So when the time comes in a few months, and it is irrelevant if they fill out forms, do they go off to basic training or do they become draft resistors? It is a “yes-no” question. Yeshiva or Army – they aren’t being offered any other options.
There’s no mention who these “Gedolei Yisrael” are. We do know that Rebbes and most Gedolei Yisrael are against it because of what they do there…
Therefore, those who want to go to these induction centers should go with their Rosh Yeshiva, nothing less.
