Attorney Yoav Lalum, who has been at the forefront of the battle to end discrimination against Sephardi girls by Ashkenazi schools, scored another victory. The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court has ruled that some Yated Neeman-affiliated editors will pay him about NIS 200,000 in compensatory payment in a libel lawsuit brought by Lalum. The judgment pertains to the Emanuel case dating back to 2009.
The lawsuit was filed in 2014 by attorney Reuven Biton, accusing Yated Neeman of defamation against his client.
According to the Ladaat News report, in conclusion, the court ruled that due to the severe language of the defamation published by the defendants, the defendants (including Yated Neeman’s Yitzhak Roth and Yechiel Sever and Peles persons today, Yitzhak Levin and Mati Grossman) will pay the attorney a sum of 165,000 compensation plus legal expenses.
Attorney Lalum said in response: I am glad that the court taught a lesson to Yated Neeman regarding the laws of slander according to the Chafetz Chaim. I hope that Yated and HaPeles, and all those who call themselves party journalists are free to speak their language and/or accuse others of harming someone other than in their party, and they will understand that the words they say or write may have financial and/or legal ramifications other than trampling the word of halacha.

Don’t you teach anyone Chofetz Chaim by going to the secular courts, which is just as bad!
Publicizing this story is also against Chofetz Chaim even if true!
How will the same court rule against all the secular papers and politicians defaming chareidim on mass?!
