President Trump issued an all-caps New Year’s greeting to his Twitter followers on Tuesday – including “the haters and the fake news media” – calling for everyone to “just calm down and enjoy the ride.”

The commander-in-chief has been stuck in the White House after canceling his trip to Mar-a-Lago amid the partial government shutdown that began on Dec. 21 when Democrats refused his demand for $5 billion to pay for a border wall with Mexico.

Late Monday, he shared an 11-second video on Twitter, saying: “While I’m at the White House working, you’re out there partying tonight. But I don’t blame you. Enjoy yourselves. We’re going to have a great year. Have a really, really happy new year.”
