The NYPD is investigating the death of a resident of a Brooklyn home for mentally disabled adults.

Police say the 44-year-old victim was discovered dead on Sunday at the Institute for Community Living on Nevins Street in downtown Brooklyn. He had suffered an apparent head injury.

The medical examiner was to perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

A spokesman for the not-for-profit home told the Wall Street Journal that it was cooperating with the investigation. He declined further comment.
