Chareidim identified with the Peleg Yerushalmi faction vow to continue protesting daily until a Chabad affiliated girl – Rivka Bas Simcha – being jailed by the IDF is released. The IDF want to draft her, but she refuses to cooperate, and as such, she has been jailed for a number of weeks.
A Monday night protest is being called for 8:00PM at Jerusalem’s Kikar Shabbos.
According to her mother, a tragedy struck the family number of years ago, and the young woman in question abandoned her frum lifestyle for a brief period, during which time she posted some photos on Facebook. Despite returning to her frum life and school, the IDF insists she is not Shomer Shabbos and insists on drafting her.
Protests were held on Sunday night in Jerusalem at the intersection of Yechezkel/Shmuel HaNavi Streets in Jerusalem as well as along Route 4 South from Morasha Interchange to the Givat Shmuel Interchange, causing major traffic problems.

@ish: Actually, I agree with him re “Chayot Hakodesh”. I would like to see what any of these Gedolim would say if they or a family member was stuck in an ambulance, needing emergency attention in the hospital, and not being able to get through. Its like the joke “Whats the definition of a conservative? A liberal whose daughter was raped”. They are all big talkers until it affects them personally.
Why is it that the disabled can block traffic and the entrance to the airport to get a bigger monthly handout from the government But to protest for a girl in jail is not acceptable.

Speak to anyone who was alive during the first gezeirah of giyus banos, the hafganos then were a lot more lively aka violent in today’s terms.
Well, history has repeated itself and the Israeli government feels it can do what they want with our daughters. These people are here to make it clear that we will never allow them to lay a finger on one of our precious Bnos Yisrael.
And I’m proud to report that it worked. The protests around the country caused the army to give in and cut the girl’s prison sentence from 20 days to 12, which falls out tomorrow (Tuesday).
In addition, the army agreed to issue her an exemption.

I cannot understand how YWN fosters such hateful remarks by publishing anti-Semitic comments on the website; Things like “tying a rope around them and dragging them to Gaza,” etc. What if, instead of some cute name like “BoysWork,” someone would write the same comment, and sign it, say, “Helmut Schmidt, Stuttgart, Germany?” Would you publish it? Is this supposed to be funny? IT IS NOT! Encouraging hatred of fellow Jews online, where everyone and anyone can read it, is not cute or funny, or “freedom of expression.” Get it into your heads once and for all. Peleg demonstrators do not pay the slightest attention to what YWN reports. The tone of the articles seems to encourage such vicious comments, and then YW actually publishes comments encouraging or recommending violence against fellow Jews. YWN would be railing against such comments if they appeared on any other website, condemning the anti-Semitic remarks. Fighting anti-Semitism starts at home.
