Hikers on motzei Shabbos were rescued from a shaft in the Atarot area, not far from the Atarot Industrial Area, as members of the Etzion Search & Rescue unit worked to locate them and then to return them to safety. Also involved in the rescue effort were members of Jerusalem fire rescue.

Two hikers who became trapped in a ten-meter shaft needed assistance in getting out. They rappelled into the peer but were unable to get out.
