Afikim Bus Company Suspends Driver Who Cursed Chareidi Passengers

The Afikim Bus Company announced that the driver of the company who cursed at Chareidi bus passengers on the 400 line will be suspended.

The passengers on line 400 of Afikim, from Bnei Brak to Jerusalem, only wanted to reach their destination safely. However, shortly after the journey began, the bus driver began to curse the chareidim on the bus’s loudspeaker system.

Kikar Shabbos News reported the incident, which occurred on 10 Teves, and it would appear that publicity has compelled the company to act.

Portions of the driver’s comments, which may be printed, follow. Other expletives are omitted.

“Chareidi parasites live at the expense of others, my daughters work, and the money of their taxes goes to the municipality of Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Beit Shemesh. The chareidim are fake, they beat soldiers who walk through their street, they burn pictures of soldiers, all the chareidim are the same.”

“The followers of Rabbi Auerbach are not the extremists – all the chareidim are the same.”

The passenger who was the target of the wrath is quoted telling Kikar Shabbos, “everything started when I got on the bus and did not say good morning to the driver.” According to her, “It was not on purpose, but immediately thereafter began a series of curses while turning a furious and threatening face at me.”

In response to the exposure, Afikim stresses its dedication to providing uncompromising service to passengers and invests considerable resources in order to constantly monitor and improve.

The company added: “The driver who is the subject of the complaint will be suspended from his work until disciplinary action is brought against him and in accordance with the conclusions, legal steps will be taken against him and his continued employment will be reviewed.”

  1. Most employers tend to be very upset over employees who curse/diss’/don’t get along with customers (at least in a capitalist system). A for-profit business makes money by selling things to customers, not driving them away.
