Dozens of Palestinian Arabs attempted to carry out a protest near the town of Givat Ze’ev towards the end of Shabbos. The Arabs began to gather from the area of Kfar Bitin around 4:30 p.m. on Shabbos afternoon.
Soldiers from the armored division who were on duty in the town at the time prevented a large-scale protest that could have turned dangerous by utilizing crowd dispersing ammunition to cause the crowd to scatter. The town’s civil defense force also took part in dispersing the gathering crowd.
Following an intense search by the IDF and Shin Bet over the course of the weekend, the terrorist who perpetrated the attack on a military station in Beit El, turned himself in to security forces. The suspect is currently undergoing investigation by the ISS.
Another attempt to kill Israelis took place on Saturday night in Samaria when Palestinians threw large rocks at any car that was traveling on Highway 60 between the towns of Rechalim and As-Sawiya. One car had its windshield severely damaged. Miraculously, no injuries were reported.
Three people were shot to death in what police are calling criminal incidents. The first shooting took place on Pesach Lev Street in the city of Lod, during which two people, a man and a woman in their 30s were killed while they were sitting in their car. In the second incident, a man was shot and killed and another injured in a shooting that took place close to where the first one happened. Police arrived in force to both scenes, but have not yet found a perpetrator.
Heads of the Regional Councils of Samaria, Binyamin, Gush Etzion and Har Hevron have decided to strike their municipalities on Sunday in protest of the continued wave of terror in the region. The strike will bring workers and residents from the municipalities to protest in front of the cabinet meeting in order to push the government to bring safety and quiet back to the region.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday night that it praised the Australian government for its recognition of west Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The Ministry said that the decision was: “A step in the right direction.” The Ministry also thanked Australia for it help in the continued fight against Iran. Australia recognized Jerusalem as part of its platform to recognize “two states for two nations.”
IDF soldiers together with Border Police Officers and forces from COGAT destroyed a four-story building which included the home of the family of the terrorist who killed IDF Sergeant First Class Ronen Lubarsky. Lubarsky was killed last May. Members of Lubarsky’s Duvdevan Unit also participated in the operation surrounding the building’s destruction. The PA held a committee meeting to organize temporary residence for the family.
According to Palestinian media, Israeli security forces killed an 18-year-old man who took part in violent protests near Ramallah and threatened the lives of numerous IDF soldiers in the area.
A number of Palestinians were arrested for possession of automatic rifles during a routine car inspection that took place in the Abu Saninah neighborhood of Hebron on Friday.
Israeli Navy crews arrested four Gazans whose fishing boat ventured out of the permitted fishing area surrounding the strip. The boat’s occupants have been taken for questioning.
75 Gazans, who participated in Friday’s violent protest were injured by Israeli security forces during the weekly protest.
A resident of Yaffo was found murdered and another individual was moderately injured from bullet wounds on Yefet Street in Yaffo. Police are investigating the incident, which is for now being declared as a criminal incident.
A 60-year-old Nazareth man was rescued on the Kinneret today by maritime police after his rubber dingy drifted more that a mile away from the shores of the Kinneret.
