Reuters reports that Yemen’s Shi’ite rebels have reportedly destroyed the vacant house of the mainly state’s top rabbi.
Residents said the assailants from a group opposed to the U.S.-allied government destroyed the house of Yehia Youssuf in Saada, a northern province. The security official said it was not immediately known what weapons were used in the attack.
“They turned to the houses of other Jews after,” one resident told Reuters.
About 200 Yemeni Jews who lived in Saada, including Youssef, have been living in the capital Sanaa due to sporadic fighting between government forces and Shi’ite rebels. Most of them were transported there in Fevruary 2007 as reporte HERE on YWN.

Cmon now, this subject has been overdiscussed. The Yemenite Jews lived peacefully and securely with their Muslim neighbors for years, but that has ended about 30 yrs ago. The PAST is over and the present has to be dealt with. Funds have been raised, plans were made for emigration and there seems to be a clinch in the system.
What is it? We no go!!! Yemen the past and forever!! No moving from our huts!!
Any harm or destruction of property of our brothers in Yemen is sad, and it is even sadder that no movmt is being made to leave.
