Early on Thursday evening, Israel’s Border Police were given intelligence information regarding a suspicious individual who was suspected of smuggling tens of thousands of Shekel to Hamas inside the Palestinian Authority.
The Border Police Officers, who were operating in the Jerusalem district, were instructed to stop a car near the town of Mishor Adumim in the Judean Desert. Upon stopping the vehicle they found that the driver was an Arab suspected of smuggling money to Hamas.
Upon searching the vehicle, the officers found 66,700 NIS in cash and another 27,600 NIS in checks as well as $300.
The suspect, an arab man in his 30’s is a resident of Beit Lehem. He was arrested and taken for questioning by the police.
