Brooklyn – Councilman David G. Greenfield hosted Manhattan Borough President and New York City Comptroller candidate Scott Stringer and about 60 Jewish community leaders for a town hall meeting last week in Borough Park to discuss the community’s priorities, concerns and pressing needs. Following the meeting, Councilman Greenfield announced that he is endorsing Mr. Stringer for New York City Comptroller.
Mr. Stringer introduced himself to the individuals in attendance at the Georgie Ballroom, who included representatives from numerous community organizations, non-profits and charitable groups, and presented his vision for New York City if elected comptroller this fall. He then took questions from the audience about issues including yeshiva education and funding, transportation, funding for community organizations, public safety, the cost of living and doing business in New York as a result of all the taxes, fines and fees, and much more. At the end of the meeting, Councilman Greenfield asked the leaders for feedback and received overwhelming encouragement for Mr. Stringer. As a result, Councilman Greenfield is endorsing of Scott Stringer for City Comptroller.
“It was a privilege to host Scott Stringer and introduce him to many important community leaders here in Borough Park. Scott is someone who has dedicated his career and life to public service and to improving our city for everyone who lives and works here. We share many common concerns and priorities as elected officials, and I am proud to work with him on many important issues affecting our constituents. That’s why I am making Scott’s candidacy for New York City Comptroller my first endorsement of this 2013 political season. I know that Scott will be an outstanding comptroller who will fight every day for the bottom line of New Yorkers,” said Councilman Greenfield.
“I am proud to have the support of City Councilman David Greenfield and so many dedicated community leaders in Borough Park. Councilman Greenfield has been a strong voice in the City Council who has been able to get real results for the people of his district. It is an honor to receive his endorsement and I look forward to working with him as New York City Comptroller,” said Scott Stringer.
