Hamas is releasing statements to the media that it is uncovering details of the IDF operation in Gaza that preceded the Hamas assault, which included firing over 400 rockets at Israel is a 24-hour period. In this stage, Hamas is releasing photos of personnel and details that Israel fears will compromise the safety of troops and state security.
The IDF Spokesman’s Office released a statement from the Chief Military Censor that “Hamas is currently trying to decipher and understand the incident that took place deep inside Gaza” on 3 Kislev in which a Lt.-Colonel was killed and another officer seriously wounded. The Spokesman explains that “any bit of information, as harmless as it may appear, may place troops in life-threatening danger as well as harming state security.
“Regardless of the credibility of the details published by Hamas, we ask that you refrain from expanding the publication of images, personally identifiable information or other personal information that you have received via the media, social networks and WhatsApp groups, or any other media platform as you must act responsibly”.
Hence YWN-Israel is refraining from publishing any information in line with the IDF request to avoid chas v’sholom compromising the safety of Israel’s forces and/or state security, as clearly, there is a great deal of information surrounding that mission that is not known to the public.
