Police in the Israel Police Moriah station in Yerushalayim delivered a special sixth happy birthday to Yisrael Hasidim, permitting him to get a ‘hands on’ experience with the K9 unit, a police vehicle, radios, dispatching and other police-related tasks.
“From the first moment I was introduced to Yisrael’s personal story, his coping with leukemia, and the fact that his dream of becoming a policeman when he grows up, it was immediately decided by the station command and police officers to organize a birthday that he would not forget and fulfill his dream … the smile on his face was the biggest gift we could get back from him … “, stated Commander Ronen Ovadia, commander of the Moriah station.
On Wednesday night, Yisrael Hasidim, aged 6, arrived at the Moriah station in the Jerusalem district, where the policemen greeted him with huge dolls … Israel did not waste time and immediately went to work, learned how to work together with a police dog, sat in the station’s control center and operated items inside the field patrol vehicles.
The conclusion of the special visit included a birthday party attended by tens of officers as well as friends and members of Yisrael’s family.
Commander Ovadia gave him a bracha:
“אני מאמין שהקדוש ברוך הוא בעזרת השם עוד יגדל אותך לחופה ולמעשים טובים, ואתה תהיה פה שוטר בתחנת מוריה”.
