An elderly man is lucky to be alive on Wednesday, after he drove his vehicle into a construction hole in Brooklyn.
According to published reports, the 89-year-old man drove his vehicle through a barricade at a construction site on Bedford Avenue and Avenue V in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. His vehicle then fell into a deep construction hole, landing upside down.
Emergency personnel from the FDNY and the NYPD ESU both used rescue equipment to extricate the man.
He was transported by EMS to Lutheran Trauma Center and is in stable condition.
